On Monday, the 19th of February my year went on a four day trip to Carlingford Adventure Centre, in County Louth. We left early Monday morning on the 2 hour bus journey. I had no idea what to expect for the week.
The adventure centre was in the middle of a really nice little town. Everyone was put into rooms in alphabetical order, I was in a room with Eli Pigot and Oskar Rachwal. This gave everyone a good chance to talk to people who they mightn't have known very well before the trip. Our days were action packed, with 3 activities per day, ranging from laser tag to ziplining to canoeing. These activities meant that we weren't bored during the four days. My favourite activity was laser tag, which my group got to do on the third day in a war- like battlefield that was about a 30 minute walk from the centre. My least favourite was probably canoeing, because it was freezing. My group was the only group that did canoeing as it was cancelled because of the weather for the other groups.
Each activity was fun and helped everyone to bond. The four days flew and before I knew it we were back on the bus headed home. Looking back on the year, I think that Carlingford was one of the best experiences of TY.
